House Church Egg Dream

I had a dream from the Lord about housechurch. Here’s what happened in the dream. I was coming out of a big church room where we were having a great assembly of kids like a huge sunday school or children’s church. As I was walking out the double doors, a pretty young girl looked over and walked to me. (she had also been a speaker with the kids) She said with remorse or dejectedly…”.It’s easy to see they respond better to you….you’re so beautiful!" I laughed at that—thinking--- ‘what?’ I’m old….I have all these wrinkles, she must be mocking….but she wasn’t mocking me…. she perceived that I was beautiful. She handed me with force-- a beautiful black carton of eggs. It was unlike any other egg carton I had ever seen….with two artistic hens painted on the lid. As she walked away—I opened the carton carefully to discover that some eggs were gone but there were nine cracked/ broken ones left I went directly to the church kitchen to look for a bowl to save them. But the kitchen was occupied by food service people (like a food truck-- only it came to their kitchen –like they leased it from the church in order to serve favorite kinds of fast food—it was trendy) I felt an urgency but had to wait in line to ask for a bowl. The kitchen food service people were nice but could only offer a big wide plastic cup to which they had added water to about 1/3 of the container. I tried to lift the eggs out of their carton and into the plastic cup…. I didn’t have what it took…..I needed a bigger cup….I drained out the water (thinking why did they add this?) drained it as best I could but still I wanted a bowl & strainer for the shells. The eggs could be saved---they could still be used to nourish—so I took them home---It was obvious I couldn’t do it here. Then I woke up.Here’s what I think it means. The eggs represent the word of God….the three in one….the whole counsel of God. The beautiful black carton is a reference to a bible cover….which protects the pages of the Word. There were two hens on the carton….one black with white spots and the other all white….(maybe 2 kinds of teachers? The white one was common the spotted one was prettier) The pretty young girl was careless with the Word and mistreated it…..then handed off what was left. I knew it could still nourish---- could still do what it was intended to do…..but no longer in this environment. It had to be carried home soon and carefully used there. She had seen how the children respond to the Word when taught through someone who loves the Word. (what the anointing does----no matter what the person looks like on the outside—souls will respond to the truth & goodness of the Word). but she quickly forfeited the Word –giving it away. ---maybe jealousy of the anointing? The fast food service was occupying the kitchen once used-- to prepare good food---now only fast food and watered down. ‘fast food’--- much less nourishing--prepared and eaten in haste---not savored. These are again times for house church-- for those who find the Word a precious treasure and of great value. Every house has a strainer and a bowl the right size to use---without water added. Just think –the Lord may want to use your house--- and your strainer & bowl for his glory. Selah — Lynn Bartelmay

A Dream from the Lord

A dream from the Lord is usually either a warning or to reveal something hidden…maybe both.I had a dream from the Lord Friday January 22….two days following the fraudulent inauguration. Since the dream was mine---it needs a preface. I love old doors. We have several that are more than a century old. They were made from strong solid well-seasoned wood. Over the years they have weathered plenty of abuse and have donned several coats of paint to cover their marks & scars. I take them and sand off those layers because I love to see the old gold wood show through. You can’t get it all off ---it clings to every notch and corner (unless you strip the door which compromises the glue that holds it together). But I don’t mind keeping some of the old paint---to me it’s charming and historic. We’ve used up most of our doors for various projects….but the last door stands in the middle of our living space. It’s a free standing thing not really hooked to anything—it’s current occupation is to hide the back of the small refrigerator and it’s got great character. I am very fond of it---to me it’s a work of art. This is the dream: In the dream I was sleeping and got up in the dark. I was walking past that door and noticed it was about to break toward the bottom. The bottom part maybe ¼ or 1/3 was splintered and I could see it had been riddled by termites. I picked it up and it came apart in my hands. I was SO sad. John said well, we could get another door…. but I objected to that….I love that old thing….I have invested time & effort into getting it just ‘right’ for my purpose. I had sanded & stained & sealed it on both sides. So apparently at 3 in the morning I headed to our garage to work on it. It had to be cut and pieced and glued…filling some of the holes with epoxy. At last it was strong again and able to stand. Just then a neighbor came running across the lawn because she saw the garage light. She was kind of frantic sounding---Lynn! They just arrested Hunter Biden! I asked her name. I knew she was a neighbor but didn’t know her well. She told me ‘Tanya’! (like I should have known) There was a bit more of the dream….but here’s the analogy I think the Lord wanted me to see. The door represents our country. Once beautiful and strong. God built it for His purpose. I counted the pieces that made the original door 13. 13 colonies? --various sizes glued together for a common purpose. America stands in the middle of our lives---in the midst of all countries. It exhibits a strong faith and trust in God. It was birthed to give out the gospel---to show forth freedom and a testimony to God’s favor. Over time it has suffered abuse and historically we’ve tried to paint it one color or another. But as long as it’s foundation was sturdy---it could hold up the rest and still serve His purpose. Maybe God wanted to reveal to me his heart toward America. He loves America….with it’s scars and flaws ---even our varied color choices he has allowed….but I think he wants the old gold wood to show through so we remember it’s former beauty as well. God wants to rescue us ‘to heal our land’ if we will get rid of our compromise. AT first I thought the corrupted foundation meant the government – but as I wrote this out it became clearer. Our current state of politics are the termites. We have allowed them to eat away at our foundation. Sad but true--our weak foundation is the state of our churches. Our faith –our trust in God is the strength that holds up America. If we the Christians will mitigate -- God will repair. His very nature is to rescue. I felt encouraged to know that God WILL fix the door because He loves it… He shines a light in the dark while he works. On a whim I looked up the name Tanya….which means ‘we have learned’ according to several name sites—people named Tanya are peacemakers—good judges of character and able to mediate complex & highly sensitive situations….they are diplomats.Neighbors & family-- your circle of influence—see the light and come running to you---because they know you have answers. You may not know them---but they know you…by your words & your actions. so shine your light in the dark…it’s your door and it can be fixed. - Lynn Bartlemay

Put Worry in its Place

Worry. . . what good is it? I think we can all agree that it is a waste of time and energy. And what about its negative side affects? Worry causes extreme distress to all parts of our bodies, as well as light-headedness, elevated blood pressure and stomach upset. It prevents us from sleeping, and it impacts our relationships. Pure and simple it’s a destructive emotion. One definition of worry is to torment oneself with cares and anxieties. No wonder it’s so destructive! Plus, we know worry won’t prevent things from happening. And have you noticed that the majority of the time, the things we worry about never happen? So why is worry our go-to response? One reason is because we have established this bad habit in the face of adversity. In the midst of the unknown, the uncontrollable, we choose to worry. And ultimately, we are unwilling to trust God. The worry then negates our faith. It erodes our ability to put our trust in our heavenly Father. If we are honest, we admit that we just don’t know if God will do what we want Him to do. We may not be in control of what happens, but we can control the choices we make. And choosing to trust God is a much better, healthier, soul-satisfying place to be. Isaiah 40:28-31 says that God gives power to the weak and renews our strength. So even though we feel weakened from worrying, God promises that if we trust Him, we will find new strength to free ourselves from the destructive worry pattern. So confess it out loud! “Because I trust You, Lord, I am strong in the face of adversity, and I will not worry!”At this point in time, we may have legitimate concerns about circumstances in our lives, financial concerns due to lack of employment, health concerns, or relationship difficulties. But Philippians 4:19 says that God will provide all of our needs according to His riches and glory by Christ Jesus. And Romans 8:28 is a promise from the Lord that He will bring good out of every situation in our lives. So confess it out loud! Speak out His promises instead of your worries! It’s time to flip the switch! It’s time to replace worry with trust. Why not stand in God’s Word instead of our worry? Isaiah 26:3 promises that God will keep us in perfect peace if we keep our mind fixed on Him. In I Peter 5:7 God calls us to cast our worries and cares on Him because He cares for us. Keep in mind that if you’ve cast your care on Him, then you don’t have it. If you still have it, then God doesn’t. You both can’t have it. Plus, we were never meant to carry the weight of our circumstances. Matthew 11:28-30 is a plea from Jesus himself to give Him our burdens. Again, we were never meant to carry them. That’s His job! So make the choice to trust Him instead of worry. It’s a daily, sometimes moment by moment decision. Decide to make trusting Him a habit. Change the dialogue in your head, heart, and mouth to thankfulness, praise, and confessions of trust. Stand firm in His Word, in His promises. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Hebrews 10:23 says that He who has promised is faithful. And Lamentations 3:22-23 says that because of God’s great love we are NOT consumed, His compassions NEVER fail, they are new EVERY morning, and great is His faithfulness! So put your weary heart and soul at rest. Trust Him, believe His promises, then rest and receive what is yours as His child.
